How long will a power station run it?

Pick the power station and what it runs. You’ll get the runtime, every other model on the same load, and a check that it can handle the starting surge.

Capacity and output from each maker’s page. Same formula for all.

A fridge cycles

ENERGY STAR’s median certified bottom-freezer fridge uses 560 kWh a year, about 64 W on average. It pulls much more when the compressor starts, so check the station’s surge rating too. Keep the door shut and it lasts longer.

Why not the full Wh

Jackery and EcoFlow both estimate runtime as capacity × 0.85 ÷ watts, for inverter and other losses; EcoFlow calls 0.85 a planning assumption. At light loads, the station’s own idle draw matters more, so very small loads run shorter than this.

How we work it out

hours = capacity (Wh) × 0.85 ÷ watts

That's the formula Jackery and EcoFlow both publish. The 0.85 covers losses turning battery power into household AC. EcoFlow calls it a planning assumption: real efficiency moves with the load, and a very small load runs shorter because the station itself draws a few watts.

A fridge doesn't run flat out; its compressor cycles. So we use its average draw: ENERGY STAR's median certified bottom-freezer fridge uses 560 kWh a year, about 64 W on average. Starting the compressor takes far more, which is why the station's surge rating matters for fridges, pumps and AC.

Capacities and outputs are from each maker's product page. Jackery rates cycle life to 70% capacity and EcoFlow and Anker to 80%, so compare those numbers with care.
