Why a range

Starlink gives the Mini an average of 25 to 40 W. It draws more when it's busy, heating snow off, or hot, and less when idle, but Starlink doesn't publish those numbers.

Skip the inverter

The Mini runs straight off 12 to 48 V DC (60 W) or USB-C Power Delivery rated 100 W (20 V, 5 A). No inverter needed. Running on DC avoids inverter losses, so expect a little longer than this.

The router

Count anything else on the same battery: a separate router, mesh points or a laptop all add watts.

USB-C

On USB-C, the port has to deliver 100 W (20 V, 5 A); a weaker port won't run it.

How we work it out

hours = battery Wh × 85% ÷ Starlink watts

Starlink's spec sheets give average power: 75 to 100 W for the Standard (Gen 4) and Performance, 25 to 40 W for the Mini. It publishes no idle or snow-melt figures, so we show the runtime at both ends of the average. The 85% is the allowance for inverter losses that Jackery and EcoFlow use.

The Mini runs straight from 12 to 48 V DC or a 100 W USB-C Power Delivery port, so it can skip the inverter, and the Standard 4 X has an optional DC-DC supply. Both last a little longer that way.
