How we work it out
Every check comes from Chamberlain Group's own product page, sell sheet and install guides for the Smart Garage Control (MYQ-G0401, sold by LiftMaster as 821LMC).
Brands: Chamberlain, LiftMaster, Craftsman, Guardian, Stanley and Wayne Dalton from 1993; Genie and Overhead Door from 1996
Ruled out: any Linear opener; Chamberlain Group openers with a yellow learn button made 2010 to 2021; openers whose safety sensor lights go off after the door closes; one-piece and swinging doors ("sectional doors ONLY").
Needed: a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal in the garage, ideally 75% or more, and a phone with Bluetooth for setup. Openers with myQ Wi-Fi built in don't need it at all.
